Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) joined the political community on Twitter Wednesday. He has 112 followers so far, and will be tweeting from the handle @RepCohen.

Cohen represents the Memphis area, and was first elected to the House in 2006. He is known on Capitol Hill for his interest in blues music and his collection of lapel pins.

His first tweet Wednesday summed up the day's activities:

Just met with Pelosi and sophomores.Brought up credit check bill.Visited by Councilman Ed Ford.. appreciate my President.
