Mitt Romney said Wednesday that comments by a senior aide that suggested that Romney would reset "like an Etch A Sketch" in the general election were misinterpreted, and vowed to run "as a conservative Republican nominee."

"A general election campaign takes on a different profile. The issues I'm running on will be exactly the same," the former governor said at a campaign event in Maryland Wednesday, according to ABC News.

‪"I was a conservative Republican governor, and I’ll be running as a conservative Republican nominee,"‬ Romney added added.
