Newt Gingrich admitted Tuesday that "money is very tight" with his campaign, a day after staffers began asking supporters to pay to access pictures of them with the former House Speaker taken after campaign events.

"I have the money to keep going,” Gingrich said while campaigning in Baltimore, according to NBC News. “We’re working through what it is going to take to get [to the convention]."

But Gingrich denied that the campaign had canceled a previously scheduled trip to North Carolina out of financial concern, saying it was a strategic decision to focus efforts on the District of Columbia primary.
