postheadericon Pro-Santorum super-PAC ad: Romney can't be trusted

The pro-Rick Santorum super-PAC Red, White, and Blue Fund is out with a new ad in Wisconsin hitting Mitt Romney on his record as governor of Massachusetts.

The ad charges that Romney can't be trusted given his record as governor of Massachusetts.

"What kind of president would Mitt Romney be? Just look at his record as governor," the voiceover in the ad begins. It goes on to say that Romney raised taxes totaling in the hundreds of millions, left office with the state in deep debt, and passed healthcare reform legislation that "served as the blueprint for Obamacare."

The ad is part of a $304,000 ad blitz the super-PAC is making in Wisconsin. The ads are set to air on ! broadcast and cable t.v. in Milwaukee and Green Bay.

Wisconsin's presidential primary is April 3.

Meanwhile, a pro-Romney super-PAC also is airing attack ads in Wisconsin. The Restore Our Future super-PAC hits Santorum on his economic record and highlight recent comments he made just before the Illinois primary in which Santorum said he didn't "care what the unemployment rate's going to be. It doesn't matter to me."

After he made those comments, Santorum later explained that what he meant was that it does not matter to him what the unemployment rate is "between now and election time."

"What I said was that the unemployment rate â€" it didn't matter what it was between now and el! ection time, because the fundamental issue that's causing the ! unemploy ment, that's causing the economic distress in our country, is the fact that the government is imposing its will and mandating things on people and creating a yoke on top of businesses that makes it hard to employ," Santorum said.
