Former first lady Barbara Bush on Monday criticized the political process and said she thinks the ongoing presidential campaign process has been the “worst” she’s ever seen.

“I think it’s been the worst campaign I’ve ever seen in my life,” she said at an event in Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News. “I hate that people think compromise is a dirty word. It’s not a dirty word.”

Bush has been involved in the GOP primary race, even recording robocalls for Mitt Romney that are running in Ohio and Vermont. In the recorded call, Bush says that she and her husband, former P! resident George H.W. Bush, believe “Mitt is the best man to lead the country for the next four years.” According to ABC News, Bush changed the original script to omit a line that attacked President Obama.
