Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) used Twitter Wednesday to recognize conservative California assemblyman Chuck DeVore for advising the new California branch of his political action committee. 



Huckabee, who endorsed DeVore in his unsuccessful Republican senate primary bid, has used his organization to support conservative underdogs in more than 20 races. DeVore is helping to vet potential HuckPAC candidates in California, according to the tweet.

The former governor said in April that he backed DeVore over Republican contenders Carly Fiorina and former Rep. Tom Campbell because of DeVore’s “clear pro-life record.”   

DeVore responded to the endorsement, saying “The Governor and I share core values, not least of which is a rock-solid commitment to pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-growth policies.”

Huckabee, who may run for the GOP 2012 nomination, has raised $258,000 so far this year, a figure that places him behind rivals Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and current Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty.
