House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) noted the late Paula Nowakowski’s birthday Friday via Twitter. She served as his chief of staff from 2006 to Jan. 2010, when a sudden heart attack claimed her life.

Nowakowski, who also worked for the Republican National Committee, the House Republican Conference, and the House Committee on Education, was well-regarded by staff and members of both parties.
