postheadericon Santorum: Cantor supports Romney because both 'used to just tinkering around the edges'

Rick Santorum pushed back against criticism of his economic plan from House Majority Leader â€" and newly minted Romney surrogate â€" Eric Cantor, saying the Virginia Republican was attracted to his opponent's plan because he's "used to just tinkering around the edges."

"Eric's a good guy, but he's just factually wrong … [Romney] tinkers around on the edges, reduces rates just a little bit, doesn't have any fundamental reform of the tax code. Eric's a good guy, he's a leader in Congress â€" I mean, he's used to just tinkering around on the edges, that's what Congress does … We don't need somebody who's just going to make congressmen feel comfortable. We need someone who is going to go in there and shake things up," Santorum said Monday on Fox News.

Earlier in the morning, Cantor told the network that he was supporting Romney because he believed the other candidates' economic plans were lacking.
