“Yeah, this is real,” declared Rush Limbaugh this week: The controversial radio host is now on Twitter.

Limbaugh, under fire for making remarks that compared a Georgetown University law student to a prostitute, joined Twitter this week, calling it a “strategic” decision.

"There's an army out there that wants to be mobilized, and so, I figured, use Twitter for it," Limbaugh said on his conservative radio show Thursday.

Limbaugh said that he has had the account for a while, because he wanted to establish it in his own name. “But I’ve decided to actually activate it now and use it for strategic purposes since it has become such an effective means for informing people outside the bounds of this program,” he said.
