Leahy joins #stopkony Twitter movement, pledges funding to capture Ugandan guerrilla

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) took to Twitter Thursday to applaud the spread of a viral video critical of Lord's Resistance Army leader Joseph Kony and pledge that he would continue directing funding towards his capture.
Glad to see so many care about #stopykony.#Humanrights abuses in central Africa are egregious & shining a spotlight is essential. #LRA

Kony has been charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court, including murder, sexual enslavement, cruel treatment of civilians, and the forced enlistment of children into rebel ranks. The LRA has continued to pillage the region even after the Ugandan civil war ended in 2006 after a peace process was brokered.
