postheadericon Brian Lamb, C-SPAN CEO, to step down

Brian Lamb, the founder and CEO of C-SPAN, is stepping down.

The nonprofit network formally made the announcement on Monday. Rob Kennedy and Susan Swain, co-presidents of C-SPAN, will replace Lamb, effective April 1.

Lamb had served as C-SPAN's CEO since he founded the company in 1978 and has been chairman since 1985. Going forward he will be executive chairman of the C-SPAN board.

"Susan Swain, Rob Kennedy and I have been preparing the company for this transition for several years," Lamb said in a statement. "While each has their areas of expertise, Rob and Susan complement each other professionally. I’m pleased that our board has given their partnership its unanimous endorsement. They also have a great senior management team with the right skill sets to lead C-SPAN forward."

Even after Lamb formally steps down, he will still host his weekly "Q&A" program on Sunday night.
