postheadericon Biden hopes GOP field has 'another 20 debates'

Vice President Joe Biden would like to see the Republican presidential field have 20 more debates before the GOP nomination contest is over.

"God love them, as my mother would say. I hope they have another 20 debates," Biden said at a fundraiser in Florida Wednesday night according to a White House pool report.

Biden's comments could be yet another sign of satisfaction by President Obama's reelection campaign with how the ongoing Republican presidential primary contest unfolds and Mitt Romney finds himself in an extended fight to wing he nomination.

Biden's comments came roughly 24 hours after the Super Tuesday contests. On Super Tuesday Rick Santorum was able to win a trio of victories in Tennessee, Oklahoma, and North Dakota and also placed a close second in the coveted Ohio primary. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney won Idaho, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Virginia as well as Ohio. Coming out of the contest, no Republican candidate showed any sign! of dropping out of the race.

Just prior to the contest, Obama was asked at a news conference if he had any response to Romney calling him the "most feckless president since Carter," Obama wished the former Massachusetts governor "good luck tonight" in the primary contests.

Newt Gingrich has also voiced interest in more presidential debates going forward, even with the roughly 20 debates teh candidates have already participated in. Other candidates have remained mum though. PBS is hosting an upcoming debate in Portland, Oregon on March 19 but it's not clear which of the candidates will attend.
