postheadericon White House uses Twitter, Facebook to highlight individual jobs bill supporters

The White House has taken to social media to push the president's jobs plan, highlighting the stories of individual Americans who may benefit from the bill in hopes of rallying support.

Every hour, the White House's official Twitter and Facebook feeds have featured a new American, along with a personalized appeal to Congress to pass the bill. Examples include small business owners who say they could benefit from tax credits, unemployed teachers who hope to be hired, and a family hoping to finance education programs.

"The stories highlighted will range from small business owners and mayors to students and workers who would benefit from the passage of the American Jobs Act," said White House spokesman Jay Carney in a statement.
