Looks like Ron Paul got his libertarian hand caught in the cookie jar of energy subsidies, while Rick Perry, who eats voraciously from the cookie jar of pay-for-play pork, stood alongside Paul seeking energy subsidies they both claim to oppose. They are in good Republican company. Many congressional Republicans who raise holy Cain (pun intended) against Solyndra and energy subsidies have left a paper trail of lobbying for their own favorite energy subsidies. Shame on Paul, shame on Perry, shame on them all.

Republicans are setting new records for hypocrisy, though Ron Paul surprises me. When The Washington Post reported that both Paul and Perry had pushed for energy subsidies for their favored firm, Dr. Paul's staff gave the lamest excuse on earth, that he thought the program was waste, but giving the waste to Paul's project would be less wasteful than others. Doesn't Ron Paul sound like Mitt Romney with this?
