postheadericon Jindal breaks with Perry on tuition credits for illegal immigrants

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said Friday that he did not agree with Rick Perry's program under which students who had immigrated to Texas illegally qualified for in-state tuition credits, breaking with the candidate he endorsed in the GOP presidential primary.

"I don't [agree], and he and I aren't going to agree 100 percent on everything, but I do respect the fact that he spent $400 million of Texas taxpayer dollars on securing the border," Jindal said on Fox News.

Jindal, who has endorsed Perry, was repeatedly reluctant to criticize Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney throughout the interview, perhaps betraying the reality of most national polls that show Romney having doubled the support of Perry after a month of shaky debate performances.
