House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) sharpened her CPR skills Wednesday during a Red Cross Gabrielle Giffords Honorary Save-a-Life training and lunch session.

Pelosi also spoke at the luncheon and training session.
 
The Red Cross is hosting short CPR and emergency care sessions at more than 100 locations across the country this Saturday in honor of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), who suffered a would to the head in early January during a shooting rampage.
 
In the description of the event, the Red Cross notes that Giffords intern Daniel Hernandez rushed to the congresswoman's side and used his first-aid knowledge to kee! p her alive until medical personnel arrived. Hernandez has been credited with saving Giffords's life.
 
"Many of the bystanders knew CPR and first aid and were able to save the lives of several victims, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who received help from her intern Daniel Hernandez," the description reads.
