Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) offered a resolution Wednesday requesting that the Supreme Court expedite a ruling on whether the healthcare law passes Constitutional muster.

“Why don't we express our intent to have an expedited review by the Supreme Court?” Nelson said in the Senate Wednesday.

He said the passage of his bill “might prevent people from arguing back and forth for the next several years and everybody that's going to be affected would have an answer.”

Nelson offered the resolution ahead of a vote in the Senate to repeal healthcare. His resolution also follows the decision by a judge that the healthcare law is unconstitutional because of its mandate that people buy insurance.
