Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) sent some cross-Capitol love on Wednesday to the new Speaker of the House.

McCain sent his congratulations to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) in a tweet:

Congratulations @SpeakerBoehner!!

McCain wasn't one of the senators to whom Boehner gave a shout-out in his first speech as Speaker. Those included Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), two personal friends of the new Speaker.
