Rep. Darrell Issa's (R-Calif.) House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has been subpoenaed by the U.S. District Court in the case of former Yankees baseball player Roger Clemens v. United States of America.

The case is over whether Clemens lied in testimony to Congress about using steroids while playing for the New York Yankees.

A spokesman for Issa's office said they would consult with House lawyers.

“The committee intends to consult with the House General Counsel’s office and will meet its obligations in this matter,” Issa spokesman Kurt Bardella said Friday.

The subpoena requires the committee to provide "all interview summaries, notes ! and memoranda related to Hearing on the Mitchell Report: The Illegal Use of Steroids in Major League Baseball (February 2008) …" as well as "all related proceedings."

A federal grand jury indicted Clemens for perjuring his testimony on Aug. 19.
