It is almost impossible to turn on cable news, on any cable network, and not witness the great lionization for sainthood of New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie, the new pundit flavor of the month.

Hold the phone! Christie is cutting spending that would create jobs at a time punishing unemployment. Police are being laid off in high-crime areas. Firefighters are being terminated. Teachers are under attack at a time our children lag behind foreign nations. The poor endure harsh cuts at a time of sky-high homelessness and poverty.

Is it because Christie's policies are working? No, we will not know for a year, and I predict they will not work.
