Cairo must not become Tiananmen Square

As I write these words, the Mubarak government has obviously sent in goon squads to attack and provoke Egyptian protesters who have acted with Herculean good will and nonviolence.
One piece of advice I have offered to some high-level officials I know is that President Obama should speak out unequivocally against this, and warn Mubarak to end what appears to be a Reichstag strategy designed to provoke violence to justify a crackdown.
