Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) traded some trash talk with Chicago mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel (D) on Tuesday.

Booker challenged Emanuel to a "shovel-off" as the Windy City braces for a blanketing of snow on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Booker tweeted:

Rham rocks! But (forgive the Khrushchev quote) "I will bury u!" RT @pourmecoffee: Time 4 Booker v. @RahmEmanuel Highlander style shovel-off.

Booker got good play in the press for responding via Twitter to constituents' pleas for help to dig out from a snowstorm in Newark last year. He took to the streets to personally help shovel driveways and sidewalks.

But Emanuel shot back, with a reference to the "shovel-ready" stimulus projects he helped push as President Obama's chief of staff:
