Severe weather is preventing some lawmakers â€" including Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) â€" from making it back to Washington on Tuesday.

King tweeted this morning from New York, which faces snow, sleet and freezing rain.

"Trying to get down to DC," he said. "Three hour delays at LaGuardia. Just had phone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister."

No word yet from King's staff on the topic of that call. 

King is the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and tweets at @RepPeteKing.
