postheadericon White House communications director gets on Twitter

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer tweeted for the first time Wednesday, taking questions from followers.

The top official tweets at @pfeiffer44 and currently has 685 followers. He is following 105 people, mostly a mix of sports and political journalists and media figures, as well as White House staff.

During his question-and-answer session with Twitter followers, Pfeiffer said that a new press secretary will be appointed soon to replace Robert Gibbs:

@Vanthefireman  The President hasn't made a decision yet, but we have a number of great candidates. Should be some news soon

Pfeiffer would not go much further than Obama when asked what type of changes the White House wants to make to Social Security:

.@missdee68 As POTUS said last night, we want to work with Congress, but any changes must strengthen, not undermine Social Security
