Lawmaker wishes Regis goodbye

A senior Republican lawmaker took time on Tuesday to wish talk show host Regis Philbin a happy retirement.
Rep. Darrell Issa (Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said on Twitter, "This Bud's for you."
Goodbye #Regis. Had a great run...this Bud's for you. @regis_and_kelly
Philbin, 79, made the announcement Tuesday on his daily daytime talk show, which he has hosted for a quarter century. Regis said he would step down for good at the end of the summer, but did not provide an exact date.
