America’s clean energy industries are reeling at a time when they should be flourishing. What is needed is smart policy reform for clean energy.

Until recently, the U.S. wind industry has been growing quickly, posting double-digit growth each of the last seven years. Wind power was one of the few sectors of the economy that added jobs through the Great Recession, growing 63 percent from 2007 to 2010.

But now, wind and other clean tech sectors are facing serious headwinds. The problems brewing for clean tech today can be seen in the cascade of recently cancelled plans for new wind farms and turbine factory layoffs.
