postheadericon Romney puts anti-union politics front and center

With Chris Christie now officially out of the running, Mitt Romney has once again emerged as the GOP Presidential candidate to beat. It is hardly surprising that the former Massachusetts governor has reclaimed the frontrunner mantle. Despite a lack of enthusiasm for his candidacy among Republican activists, Romney has qualities that would serve him well in a contest with President Obama â€" he is intelligent and articulate, he has embraced fewer extreme social policies than his GOP rivals, and he can appeal to independent voters.

And despite his claims about having the interests of American workers at heart, he is virulently anti-union.  At Republican gatherings, Romney frequently proclaims his anti-labor positions, especially with regard to public sector collective bargaining, right-to-work laws, and the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) complaint against Boeing.
