postheadericon House GOP freshmen push Senate to hold a budget vote

House GOP freshman are putting pressure on the Senate to pass a federal budget and vote on 12 specific “House-passed, pro-growth” bills.

The group held a press conference Tuesday to launch their "Operation Turnaround" initiative, using it to stress their commitment to cutting government spending â€" a stance that got most of them elected last year.

Thirty-three House freshmen have signed on to "Operation Turnaround." Some of them could face tough reelection challenges next year.

The freshmen also took to Twitter to tout the number “888” as part of their effort to turn up the pressure on Senate Democrats. They note that is the date the Senate last passed a budget  â€" April 29, 2009  â€" 888 days ago.
