The Republican presidential field avoided offering any praise for President Obama after Col. Moammar Gadhafi was killed in Libya.

Mitt Romney, the current Republican front-runner, took a sharp tone, telling reporters it was “about time” Gadhafi was killed.

“Gadhafi [was a] terrible tyrant that killed his own people and murdered Americans and others in the tragedy in Lockerbie,” Romney said, referring to the 1988 bombing of Pan-Am Flight 103. “The world is a better place with Gadhafi gone.”
