Did anyone notice that one of the holdouts on Sen. Jim DeMint's (R-S.C.) "Cut, Cap, Balance" pledge is none other than the rising star of the 2012 GOP presidential field, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) herself? Yes, she has demurred, saying the pledge doesn't go far enough, since her top priority is to repeal the Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, and the DeMint pledge isn't going to do that. DeMint was asked about it this week on CNN and said he was "disappointed" she hasn't signed on.

Meanwhile, the conservative leader whom most have expected to have enormous influence on the GOP presidential primary with any endorsement he plans to make shared real estate on the Wall Street Journal op-ed page Thursday with moderate Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine.!
