Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) downplayed a remark citing her "sex appeal" made earlier this week by a top adviser to Tim Pawlenty's presidential campaign.

Bachmann, speaking on the Scott Hennen radio show, said it was "good news" that she had sex appeal, laughing off the comment by former GOP Rep. Vin Weber, who serves as co-chairman of Pawlenty's campaign.

"Listen, I'm 55 years old. I've given birth to five kids and I've raised 23 foster kids," she said. "So that sounds like good news to me."

Weber's comment on Wednesday forced a quick apology the same day, and Pawlenty, the former Minnesota governor who trails Bachmann in polls, said he didn't back his! co-chairman's sentiment.
