postheadericon Poll: Economy overwhelms other issues heading into 2010

The economy and jobs far outweigh every other issue for voters heading into 2010, according to a new Gallup poll.

Over half of respondents, 58 percent, chose either "economy in general" (30 percent) or "unemployment/jobs" (28 percent) when asked to choose the most important issue facing the country.

The next highest issue â€" "dissatisfaction with government" â€" garnered just 12 percent.

No other selection reached double digits.
