Florida Senate candidate Kendrick Meek (D) used Twitter Wednesday to thoroughly document a visit from President Obama.

In nine tweets, he noted a motorcade ride, a Democratic fundraiser, the president's comments, their lunch together, and an article noting that Obama had hugged Meek.

"How are you supposed to thank the POTUS for buying you a corned beef sandwich & for giving you a lift in his ride?" Meek said on Twitter Tuesday night.

He faces self-funded billionaire Jeff Greene in the Aug. 24 Democratic primary.

White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton had responded to questions Thursday about the president's trip to Florida.

"I think that the president has fully embraced Kendrick Meek," he said. "We envision this as going down and helping out Florida Democrats."

Meek had also tweeted a visit from former President Clinton on Tuesday.
