postheadericon Tim Pawlenty clears 2012 campaign debt, closes presidential committee

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) has brought his presidential campaign committee out of debt and filed to officially terminate it, records released Tuesday show.

Pawlenty’s presidential bid ended in August, but Pawlenty for President remained open with roughly $435,500 in debts, public documents indicate.

“It was truly an honor to run for President of the United States,” Pawlenty said in a statement, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
