As Americans know firsthand, we continue to struggle with an economy that is not performing well or meeting the needs of workers. The unemployment rate remains above 8 percent, as has been the case for the last three years. Much of this can be attributed to a lack of certainty on the part of employers, who drive the economic engine and create jobs. And one need look no further than the regulatory policies pushed by the Obama administration to understand why job creators are not creating jobs.
 
Time and again, the regulatory agencies under this administration have sought to issue rules that stifle growth and job creation, despite the fact that we are mired in one of the most stagnant economic periods in American history. Some in the White House believe talking about lower unemployment is enough, but employers and workers aren’t fooled. They know that more red tape, greater bureaucratic involvement in day-to-day issues and an alphabet soup of government ag! encies issuing burdensome regulations do not equal investment and hiring.
