postheadericon Lieberman: Carousing agents pose direct threat to president

The chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee warned Sunday that carousing Secret Service agents, like those under fire for the Colombian prostitution scandal, pose a direct threat to the president.

"It's more serious than just a frolic," Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said during an interview with "Fox News Sunday." "History is full of cases where enemies have compromised people's security and intelligence positions with sex." 

Lieberman said there's no evidence â€" yet â€" that "information was compromised" in the Colombia incident, but he warned that if agents get a reputation for drinking and carousing, "then people who are hostile to the U.S., people who actually want to attack the president United States, will begin to take advantage of that vulnerability."
