postheadericon Huntsman loans campaign $1.5 million, but still in debt

Former Republican presidential candidate John Huntsman loaned his campaign another $1.5 million of his own money to cover debt stemming from his bid from the White House, according to a report Monday in the Salt Lake Tribune. But the former Utah governor remains more than $1.3 million in the red from services provided by vendors during his early run at the Republican nomination.

Huntsman has now loaned his campaign a total of more than $4 million, further evidence that he failed to gain any real traction in the Republican field â€" or with Republican voters. According to campaign records, Huntsman brought in just $6,000 in donations towards settling his campaign debt in recent months.

That $4 million doesn't include additional money donated by Huntsman's billionaire father to a Super PAC supporting Huntsman's bid.
