Mitt Romney may have earned an coveted endorsement this week from Mitch Daniels, but the Indiana governor is warning Romney that the current tone of his campaign is too negative.

"You have to campaign to govern, not just to win," Daniels told The Indianapolis Star.

The governor, himself considered a front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination before opting against a run last year, said of Romney's campaign that "political victories that follow 'slash-and-burn' campaigns seldom lead to great accomplishments."
