Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will endorse Rick Santorum for president.

According to multiple reports, DeWine (R), who previously backed Mitt Rommney, will flip camps and back Santorum.

DeWine will endorse the former Pennsylvania senator at a campaign event in Columbus, Ohio at 2 p.m. on Friday. The attorney general endorsed Romney in October.

Winning over a Romney backer is a coup for Santorum, who's really jumped to the front of the GOP pack in a number of national and statewide polls.

In response, the Romney campaign has had to pivot its attacks to Santorum and the Santorum and Romney camps have been trading barbs in Michigan, where Romney grew up and won by nine points in the 2008 Republican primary, and where Santorum has recently been polling ahead.
