postheadericon Three arrests at Rep. Paul Ryan speech

Protesters repeatedly disrupted Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) at a luncheon event in his home-state district Tuesday.

According to reports, around a dozen protesters demanding answers on questions related to Ryan's plan for job growth were escorted out of the event. Three were taken into custody.

"There were three individuals who did not want to leave and physically resisted our attempts to remove them from the facility, and they are currently in custody," Greenfield Police Chief Brad Wendtlandt told local Wisconsin Fox affiliate WITI-TV.

"Welcome to the new normal of Wisconsin," Ryan said. Police expected disruptions at the event and sent about 40 police officers to control the crowds, according to Milwaukee-based WITI-TV.
