House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Monday held up Boeing’s controversial new airliner plant as a contrast to President Obama’s approach to job creation.

Touring the controversial plant in South Carolina, McCarthy spoke out against President Obama’s recently announced deficit-reduction plan. Obama on Monday morning clarified a plan that would pay for his $447 billion jobs bill through $1.5 trillion in tax hikes on the wealthy.

"Being from California where we do have a millionaire tax, I find businesses every day leaving the state," McCarthy said, according to the Associated Press. "Here I have just come to South Carolina and I found you have created thousands of jobs, not because you are offering more taxes on people who created money but you are giving incentives to people to create jobs.”
