As Spider-Man reminds us, “With great power, comes great responsibility.”

This maxim has new urgency as we face our first post-Citizens United presidential election in 2012. In last couple of years, the U.S. Supreme Court has granted corporations new powers to engage in the political process. But corporate law has yet to catch up so that these new corporate political rights are accompanied by commensurate responsibilities. But there are ways to beef up corporate law to address this issue.
