There is something fundamentally wrong with our political system when politicians attack the very existence of a class of people.

I am not referring to spirited debates about the banks that get bailouts or the privileged corporations that get away with cheating on their taxes. Those are objects that get benefits at the expense of hard working taxpayers. I am talking about real people being beaten down by right wing extremists because they or their ancestors came from somewhere else.

In one rant against undocumented immigrants, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) told a home state television station: "As your congressman on the House floor, I'll do anything short of shooting them, anything that is lawful."
