Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) mocked Republicans for a lack of progressiveness on Monday.

Blumenauer tweeted, "GOP brought back Styrofoam, now trying to bring back inefficient light bulbs...Rotary phones may also make a comeback #GOPBacktotheFuture"

The House is expected to vote this week on GOP legislation that would repeal light bulb efficiency standards. Some Republicans say the 2007 light bulb standards are the equivalent of banning incandescent bulbs and an example of over-regulation by the government.

Earlier in the year, the Republican majority in the House ended a three-year compost program for Hou! se office building cafeterias started by Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). This meant switching out the slightly more expensive but environmentally-friendly biodegradable cups used in House office building cafeterias with more cost-effective though non-recyclable styrofoam cups. Pelosi and other Democrats protested the switch.
