Rep. Anthony Weiner said he is not resigning his congressional seat.

In response to a question by a reporter for The New York Post Weiner (D-N.Y.) flatly said he would not quit.

"I'm not," Weiner said Thursday.

Weiner's comment comes as he faces increasing pressure from his own party to resign. Since Weiner admitted to sending a lewd photo to a woman in Seattle via his Twitter account and then lying about it, an increasing number of Democrats have called for him to resign.

The National Republican Congressional Committee also has pressured lawmakers to return money Weiner donated to House Democrats' campaigns.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has called for the House Ethics Committee to inve! stigate Weiner.
