President Obama is expected to travel to California next month to fundraise for Democrats. 

The president's April 20-21 visit will take him to Los Angeles and San Francisco to raise money for the party, according to the Associated Press.

Obama is stepping up his fundraising efforts ahead of his reelection campaign, which is expected to officially launch in coming weeks.

The president has not yet been able to raise money for his own campaign, since he has not announced reelection, but he has headlined events for party committees that have netted large sums.

The 44th president traveled to New York City this week to raise money from big-ticket donors to the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The party reportedly took in $1.5 million between tw! o events.

And a week before his California trip, Obama is going to headline a fundraiser in his hometown of Chicago, which will double as the site of his reelection headquarters.
