The coalitions in Wisconsin fighting back against Governor Walker’s attack on unions, which can be described by nothing else than as a naked power grab, are about as diverse as they come.

The movement that is growing in Wisconsin marks the relative epicenter of democracy in the United States. Even in wintry Wisconsin, walking to the Capitol on any given morning one will undoubtedly encounter people of every age.

Although we are facing close to $1 billion in cuts to K-12 education, students are developing the resolve to fight back. I’m not sure anyone could predict the impact this is having as our young people truly experience the epitome of “democracy in action.”
