President Obama and the first lady took to Facebook to announce they will host a bullying-prevention conference at the White House on Thursday.

“This isn't an issue that makes headlines every day, but it affects every single young person in our country,” President Obama says in a public service announcement post on Facebook.

“And it's something that we care about, not only as president and first lady, but also as parents,” Michelle Obama says in the video.

According to the White House, parents, students, community leaders and teachers will attend the White House Conference on Bullying Prevention. The White House will also offer a live video feed and online chats, one of which will allow participants to ask questions to an expert on bullying prevention.

Obama and the first lady’s support of bullying prevention is nothing new. Last year President Obama taped a video calling for bullying prevention after a number of suici! des. That video was praised by Dan Savage, the founder of an anti-homophobia project called It Gets Better.
