postheadericon The time has come to talk tax reform and raising taxes

The debate in Congress on the budget impasse is reaching a critical point. Not just for the next year but for down the road.

Let’s be honest. We can’t truly be serious about solving our deficit problem without talking both cutting costs and raising revenue.  

We have to face the facts; we can’t wimp out.

When Walter Mondale made his acceptance speech at the 1984 Democratic Convention and told the American people: “Mr. Reagan will raise taxes, and so will I. He won’t tell you. I just did,” he spoke the truth. Reagan did raise taxes. Reagan raised taxes in almost every year of his presidency and even raised taxes as governor of California in 1967 by a billion dollars. Real money back then!
