Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell delivered the following remarks on the Senate floor Thursday regarding the passing of veteran Washington Post writer and columnist David Broder:

A lot’s been said in the last 24 hours about David Broder.

I’d like to add just a brief word of my own.

I won’t pretend to have know him well, I didn’t, but I admired him.

You couldn’t help but admire him.
